Equinox Marathon Trail (Ascent) (157 photos)

Ever wondered what it looks like along the Equinox Marathon trail? These are from September 2007, about 2 weeks before the race. I tried to load them in the order they are encountered along the trail, but there may be one or two out of sequence. These images are only of the ascent route. I missed the turn-off to Alder Chute on the way back down so I’ll get some pics of that leg of the race and post them later. There are a few images of the end of the race as the trail joins back up to the UAF ski trails again. The Equinox Marathon is run in Fairbanks, Alaska each year in mid-September. I’ve read that is has the second greatest elevation change of any US marathon, but I have nothing to back that claim up. The Pikes Peak Marathon in Colorado Springs, CO has the greatest elevation change.

Tokositna Trip (3 photos)

2007 float/fishing trip on the Tokositna River, Alaska That ended with some fun in Talkeetna. We went with Tim Kalke who is co-owner of Mat-Su Expeditions and River Guides.
